If it’s your first time filing online, you’ll need a Government Gateway account. This provides secure access to HMRC services. During sign-up, have your National Insurance number and other personal details ready to verify your identity.

To complete your tax return accurately, you’ll need:

  • Your P60 and/or P45 forms for employment income

  • Statements for self-employment income or rental income

  • Records of any savings, investments, or dividends

THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE SECURING OTHER DEBTS AGAINST YOUR HOME.

YOUR HOME MAY BE REPOSSESSED IF YOU DO NOT KEEP UP REPAYMENTS ON YOUR MORTGAGE OR ANY OTHER DEBT SECURED ON IT.

IMPORTANT: With investments, your capital is at risk. Pensions and investments can go down in value as well as up, so you could get back less than you invest.
